The Unseen Body

This series represents imaginary perceptions of the four chemical base pairs that make up our DNA in the body. Cytosine, Guanine, Thymine and Adenine, are in a metaphorical sense, the building blocks of life; carrying all the instructions and codes that form the strand of DNA and tell the DNA that makes up the cells how to operate. As purely chemical signifiers that trigger various biological actions, DNA is invisible to the naked eye. The paintings evolve out of a human desire to conceive the infinite.
