Bioinformatics
The Bioinformatics series evolves out of an interest in the recent flood of data from genome sequences and functional genomics that has given rise to new field called bioinformatics. Bioinformatics uses high performance computing to assemble complex genomic data and understand gene function. Developing an understanding of the meaning of these new technologies, in particular, the implications of powerful new gene editing tools like CRISPR/ Cas9 captures my imagination in multifarious ways and becomes a medium through which decisions are made in my painting.
